The Sanibel Sea School welcomes families who are vacationing on Sanibel & Captiva as well residents here on the islands.
Part of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation Family, Sanibel Sea School’s mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. Through half-day classes, week-long camps, and community outreach programs, Marine Science Educators provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. These offerings give students an opportunity to touch, feel and interact with the natural environment in Southwest Florida and provides an experience that fosters an intimate connection with our ocean planet.
Sanibel Sea School’s educational opportunities reach children and families that are visiting Southwest Florida on vacation, local students, and also those that don’t have the opportunity to visit the ocean in Lee and Hendry Counties. Sanibel Sea School partners with local nonprofits and child care organizations to offer meaningful after school engagement and classroom visits where the educators bring the ocean to more inland schools. Sanibel Sea School believes every student should have an ocean education and offers tuition assistance and scholarships to all of their outreach programs and any families in need.
