BUnique Boutique is a gift shop on Sanibel with trending island fashions and accessories. Sandra Williams and her husband, David, opened the store in 2012 and she has become known for her top-tier customer service.
“I treat my customer as I would a family member,” said Williams. “My goal is that you feel at home in our store and enjoy the level of personal service.”
Her most popular brands include Skemo, Jams World and Bonavi. Her products come from European countries such as Italy and England as well as from North and South America. “I like to keep up with new styles and have a range of clothing and hand-crafted jewelry that appeals to every taste.”
She makes sure that the vast majority of her inventory is unique to Sanibel Island.
Right now, with summer-time outdoor living at a premium, her line of Bonavi shoes ranks as her most popular merchandise. The shoes are breathable and washable and can be worn in water, making them a good choice for walks on Sanibel & Captiva beaches.
Like many local small business here, Williams is thrilled to see the uptick in shoppers. Sanibel and Captiva has become one of the hottest real estate markets in Florida and the arrival of new residents and vacationers is buoying her hopes for strong summer and fall seasons.
“Our community is great and we have a loyal base,” she said. “Our customers know they can find something of good quality that is uniquely made. Our pieces work with a real variety of fashion styles. We welcome newcomers to come see our shop.”
Fashion from BUnique Boutique appeared on the cover of the most recent issue of Island Scene magazine. Williams worked closely with model Naomi Rothring and critically-acclaimed photographer Mila Bridger during an afternoon photo shoot at the Sundial Beach Resort.
“It was a blessing and one of the most exciting things of the year,” she said. “I am proud that we were featured on the cover.
